Mercury Enters Taurus (May 3)
On May 3, Mercury slips into Taurus, having just convened with Chiron, shortly after the seeding of the Scorpio Full Moon. Mercury’s pulse slows as he leaves Aries and enters the feminine, fixed earth temple of Venus. Here, he expresses himself with greater deliberateness and practicality. The grounded physicality—the deep connection to the aesthetic and somatic beauty of the earth—may be seen in activities such as gardening, music, or art. Mercury particularly enjoys working hands-on, learning through practicality, and consolidating knowledge. Being in fixed Taurus, he does not move easily from one thing to the next. He prefers reliability and steadiness, and sometimes displays a useful stubbornness.
.
Pluto Stations Retrograde in Aquarius (May 6)
On May 6, Pluto stations retrograde at 5°30′ Aquarius, beginning his slow, five-month backward dance through the sky.
Pluto has only recently entered Aquarius—the water-bearer, the sign of networks, collectives, technology, and rebellion against old hierarchies. This is Pluto’s first full retrograde in Aquarius in our lifetimes. It drills us down into uncomfortable questions: Who holds power in my communities? Where am I complicit? Where have I outsourced my authority?
Pluto retrograde turns the gaze inward. Hidden dysfunction, secrets, and buried power struggles may surface—not only in personal psychology, but in group dynamics, online spaces, and collective movements. The shadow of Aquarius includes the mob, the algorithm, the cold logic of systems without heart.
As Pluto retraces his steps, we are asked to face what we have projected onto others. To process material from deep psychological depths.
.
Mercury Cazimi (May 14)
On May 14, Mercury moves into conjunction with the Sun—a Cazimi, purified in the solar heart.
The divine wisdom clarified here may arrive as a sudden realisation or epiphany, one grounded in material realities: finances, possessions, personal values, aesthetic beauty, and physical comforts. It brings tangible insight and a reset in communication. The seeds of new intention for the four-month synodic cycle that lies ahead are now planted.
.
Mars Conjunct Chiron (May 17)
Mars meets Chiron in the final degrees of Aries, the sign which speaks to individual assertion and sovereignty. This may be challenging. Past pressure points will likely be triggered.

This aspect asks you to examine a formative wound—a wound of feeling shamed, suppressed, or denied for the very fact of desiring something. It may trigger the struggle for healthy assertion: the need to balance being overly aggressive or feeling stripped of agency.
Where have you been feeling a “bottled up” sense of frustration, or a lack of permission to act?
You may walk the fine line between trauma and anger. This is a time to breathe deeply. To act with self-awareness. The healing comes when you realise that the formative wound isn’t that you were not able to attain something you wanted. The wound is that you were made to feel ashamed for wanting something in the first place.
.
The New Moon in Taurus (25°57′)
The New Moon forms in the darkness of Taurus at 25°57’—a time of completion and a time of beginnings. Here, the Moon is in her exaltation, carrying the power to manifest comfort, stability, and a deep connection to nature. This is a potent moment to sow the seeds of new intentions.
The ruler of this lunation, Venus, is in Gemini—the mutable, masculine air sign of Mercury. This is the sign of quick, curious, and analytical thinking. Uranus, having recently ingressed into the sign of the Twins, is copresent with Venus. Both are ruled by Mercury, who travels with the New Moon in Taurus. Thus, Mercury and Venus are in mutual reception: Mercury in Venus’s sign, Venus in Mercury’s sign.
So the New Moon, which looks for stability and grounded predictability in Taurus, is now infused with a longing for the unconventional and rebellious. This is a time for manifesting new ideas and relationships through innovative communication—perhaps through new technologies or unexpected social connections. The Moon wants to build something durable, but with Venus in Gemini alongside Uranus, that durability may need reimagining and a release of old structures or ideas.
This longing for the unconventional is not merely personal. With Pluto retrograde in Aquarius—the sign of collective rebellion—the call to break from conventional authority carries generational weight. Old power structures (patriarchal, institutional, hierarchical) are being unearthed, examined, and in some cases, decisively severed.
.
Fixed Star Algol: The Sovereignty of Rage
It is worth noting that the fixed star Algol—traditionally associated with misfortune and decapitation—lies at 25°47′, conjoining this New Moon within ten arc minutes.

In Greek mythology, Algol (Beta Persei) represents the eye of the Gorgon Medusa. According to the myth, the hero Perseus uses a mirror to deflect her petrifying gaze and beheads her, later using her severed head as a weapon. Algol’s name comes from the Arabic Ra’s al-Ghul, meaning “the Demon’s Head,” and its characteristic blinking (variability in brightness) was anciently associated with the winking, malevolent eye of the monster.
Yet in pre-Olympian, matrifocal cultures, the Gorgon was a protective deity—a symbol of the Great Mother in her terrifying life-and-death aspect. Her face was an apotropaic symbol, placed on temples and shields to ward off evil. Her blood was both deadly and had the power to heal and resurrect.
In Ovid’s Metamorphoses, Medusa is a beautiful priestess in Athena’s temple. Poseidon (Neptune) rapes her inside the temple. Athena—born from Zeus’s head—punishes Medusa, not the god. She transforms Medusa’s hair into snakes and makes her face so terrifying that any man who looks at her turns to stone.
The winking eye is the wounded but unvanquished core of the Sacred Feminine—the part that was raped, demonised, decapitated, but still sees.
From this perspective, the Algol myth encodes patriarchal trauma: the suppression of female autonomy, sexual agency, and power. Medusa is held responsible and punished for a crime committed against her body, cut off from community, outcast, held with fear and dread.
Thus, this New Moon holds the power of reclaiming the Sacred Feminine—for the countless survivors whose violation and trauma they were asked to carry. The defiance of those who dare to stare down the predator’s gaze, demanding to be seen on their own terms. It brings to mind the witch trials, when women accused of harmful magic or devil worship were burned at the stake.
Algol signifies the sovereignty of rage—indignation, anger, and grief owned rather than suppressed or turned inward. The snakes of the Gorgon are her thoughts, her intuition, her fury—active, alive, and defending her.
On a mundane level, this fearsome star may also denote mass atrocities, or a leader “losing their head”—being removed from power or assassinated. Symbolically, this represents the severing of old Taurean attachments, allowing the birth of new intellectual freedoms in Gemini.
Pluto retrograde in Aquarius asks: Which heads are we afraid to sever? Which authorities have we held as untouchable?
The Gorgon’s gaze, channelled through this New Moon, meets Pluto’s underworld probe. Together, they demand radical honesty about who has been demonised, silenced, and scapegoated—and what that means for the communities we are building now.
.
Taurus Decan III: The Cards of the Decan
This New Moon carries strong Saturnian overtones. It falls into the Saturn-ruled third decan of Taurus (both by Chaldean order and the triplicity system of rulership), and also into the bound of Saturn. Three tarot cards are associated with this decan.
7 of Pentacles: “The Lord of Failure”

This card reminds us that hard work and endurance are required to succeed. We may find progress slowed by obstacles, loss of belief, or fear of failure, leading us to feel disheartened. The card urges us not to give up—to see delay not as failure but as a pause, allowing us to regroup and work with a new strategy or adjusted plan.
Austin Coppock, in 36 Faces, notes that though we may work hard toward an outcome, we remain at the whims of fate, which may at times be unexpected, unavoidable, and undeserved. At other times, our downfall may be precipitated by our own hubris. Ultimately, the gifts of wisdom, fortitude, and humility lie here.
The World Card
Through perseverance and against the odds, The World signifies successful completion and the rewards that come at the end of a journey or cycle. In relation to Saturn, it is the reward of hard work and dedication. This is achieved within the embodied structures we operate within—structure, time, and mastery of physical reality itself.
T. Susan Chang, in 36 Secrets, notes that the limits imposed by Saturn are the boundaries that allow life itself to exist. Saturn is the Gatekeeper, ruling the threshold of the known world and what lies beyond. The World card signifies that you have come to the end of the line—as far as you can go—in a particular area of life.
The Hierophant
The Hierophant represents a guide or mentor who emphasises tradition, stability, and institutional wisdom. It speaks of the formal transmission of knowledge, acting as a bridge between the divine and the mundane.
But the Hierophant as traditional authority is not merely a personal guide—it is an institution. With Pluto retrograde in Aquarius, institutions themselves—religious, educational, governmental—are under review. Their power to legitimise or exclude is being retroactively excavated. The question is not whether to burn all bridges (though Algol might whisper it), but which bridges truly serve life, and which are simply old.
.
The Threads Woven
Taken together, this New Moon speaks of traditional authority (The Hierophant) subverted through indirection by the Sacred Feminine (Venus copresent with Uranus). The steady patience required for worldly success (The World) must operate within the limits, structures, and time of our material reality (Saturn). Wisdom and the transmission of knowledge (Gemini) must operate unconventionally—yet with the stubborn persistence to overcome difficulties and obstacles, achieving material success on one’s own terms.
Thus, three threads weave together: breaking from conventional or masculine authority—the Hierophant transformed by Venus/Uranus in Gemini, and by Algol’s reclaimed feminine rage. Stubborn perseverance within limits—Taurus fixedness, the Saturn-ruled decan, the 7 of Pentacles’ patient regrouping, and The World’s mastery within form. And unconventional strategy and communication—Mercury-Venus mutual reception, Uranus’s rebellion, and Mercury’s Cazimi epiphany.
And beneath it all, Pluto retrograde in Aquarius drills into our collective shadows—asking not only how we break from old authority, but what new authorities we are unconsciously building in its place.
This is not a contradiction. It is a tension—and tension generates power.
The New Moon asks: Can you be both rooted and radical? Can you hold your ground while cutting old attachments? Can you outlast the old world by refusing to play by its rules?
The answer, written in the decan cards and the fixed stars, is yes—but not quickly. Not without wounds. And not without looking the Gorgon directly in the eye.
.
Aries

The New Moon seeds in your second house in Taurus—the house of self-worth, financial independence, resources, and livelihood. Taurus is a fixed feminine earth sign that values stability, material comforts, and groundedness. Its ruler, Venus, is situated in your Gemini third house, copresent with newly ingressed Uranus. Their ruler, Mercury, in turn, sits conjoined the New Moon in Taurus. Thus there is a mutual reception between Venus and Mercury. This means that the New Moon is infused with the qualities of Venus in Gemini: an increased communicative quality, a changeable curiosity for what brings pleasure, and a greater focus on the mental and intellectual.
In fact, with Venus at the final degrees of your Gemini third house, there may be an urge toward new thought processes and ideas that are innovative, rebellious, or unconventional. This may also express itself as unexpected connections with neighbours and local people within your community, or perhaps a new turn in relation to siblings. Whatever transpires within the realm of your third house now colours the endings and beginnings that this New Moon augurs.
Pluto stations retrograde on May 6 in your Aquarius eleventh house. Circumstances related to your friends, alliances, and aspirations may reach a point of culmination, a critical turning point, or a reversal. This will encompass truths, ideas, or new plans that have arisen for expression or activation.
And with the Sun and Moon closely conjoined Algol in your second house, deep emotions around worth, resources, and old injustices may attach to this self-assertion. The question becomes: Can you claim your value while still healing your oldest wounds?
.
Taurus

The New Moon seeds in your first house in Taurus—the helm of your ship. Thus this lunation carries personal significance for your body, your mind, and your psyche.
Taurus seeks material comfort and stability. Yet its ruler (your ruler), Venus, travels through the final degrees of your Gemini second house—the house of self-worth, financial independence, material resources, and livelihood. Venus is copresent with newly ingressed Uranus, the Great Awakener and Disruptor. Thus, whatever endings and beginnings this New Moon portends will be infused with intellectual curiosity, unconventional ideas, rebellious impetus, and new ways of communicating.
Venus’s ruler, Mercury, is conjoined this lunation in Taurus, bringing a fusion to both their expressions and an interconnectedness between your first and second houses.
Adding to this is the fact that the New Moon sits conjunct the fixed star Algol. Thus the significations of the New Moon may also include the ending of fears or injustices that you are ready to act upon and process.
Pluto stations retrograde on May 6. These themes may arrive on the back of a culmination, turning point, or reversal related to your public-facing persona, career, or reputation. And with Pluto ruled by Saturn (in your twelfth house in Aries), you may react swiftly, instinctively, and perhaps unconsciously.
.
Gemini

The New Moon seeds in your twelfth house in Taurus—the house of the unspoken, the unconscious, and the more hidden aspects of your psyche. This is the part of yourself that you reject, deny, or avoid for its visceral or inscrutable nature. In Taurus, these hidden dimensions are associated with a cloistered need for something comforting or enduring.
Yet with ruler Venus transiting your first house, copresent with recently ingressed Uranus, there is a conscious aspect of your identity that seeks intellectual novelty and innovation—a desire for a new approach to communication. This is emphasised by Venus’s ruler, Mercury, placed conjunct the New Moon. Thus, through mutual reception, the stirrings for change in the twelfth house are coloured by a relational impetus for something different in how you perceive yourself.
This lunation falls upon the fixed star Algol by degree—a star renowned for its macabre significations. Yet on deeper inspection, Algol may signify a resistance to injurious or derogatory powers that have caused harm or aspersions against your integrity.
Pluto stations retrograde on May 6 in your Aquarius ninth house. This augurs a culmination, turning point, or reversal in your intellectual and spiritual growth, your interaction with the larger world, and your place within it. And Pluto trines Uranus in your first house by whole sign, bringing weighted import to the breakthroughs, disruptions, and epiphanies that are foreshadowed.
.
Cancer

The New Moon seeds in your eleventh house in Taurus, signifying endings and beginnings for your friends, alliances, and aspirations. The Moon in Taurus is exalted, and in the darkness, she seeks the potential to manifest stability and material comfort.
Yet her ruler, Venus, travels in the final degrees of Gemini, in your twelfth house. She is copresent with newly ingressed Uranus, colouring this lunation with her desires and expressions within the mutable, masculine air sign of the Twins. Thus, the initiations of this New Moon will be influenced by insightful downloads and messages from your unconscious—a need to intellectualise emotions. This may speak to hidden relationships, or connections that feel burdensome, and an urge to break free from situations that constrain you.
Venus and Uranus, in turn, are ruled by their dispositor Mercury, who is conjunct the New Moon in Taurus. Thus Mercury and Venus are connected through mutual reception. Mercury, having merged with the Sun in a Cazimi, has been purified and placed in receivership of divine information. Now, together with the New Moon, he brings a new perspective to your relationships, values, and finances, while reflecting twelfth-house themes of solitude, deep soul-level epiphanies, and spiritual shifts. These planetary events may manifest as the birth of a new dream or aspiration, informed by inner shifts and realisations.
With the New Moon conjunct Algol, you are being asked to reclaim parts of yourself that have been hidden in hurt or shame. There is power here—not despite the anger, but through it. Anger that has turned inward can now be named and released. For some, this will mean letting go of certain friends or groups. For others, it will mean finally acknowledging a deep injustice that has never been fully felt.
Pluto stations retrograde on May 6 in your Aquarius eighth house, bringing a culmination, turning point, or reversal in matters of shared resources, intimacy, transformation, and psychological depth. Whatever shifts arise in your friendships and aspirations now may carry an undertow of profound inner change. Pluto trines Uranus in your eleventh house, bringing deep subterranean transformational energy to this New Moon.
.
Leo

The New Moon seeds in your tenth house in Taurus—the house of your public-facing self and your professional sphere. The Moon is exalted in the feminine fixed earth sign of Taurus, and seeks to manifest stability, financial security, and a tangible legacy.
But its ruler, Venus, travels the final degrees of your eleventh house in the masculine mutable air sign of Gemini. She is copresent with recently ingressed Uranus. Thus the manifestations of this Moon will be coloured by her desire for intellectual unconventional connections, surprising events and breakthroughs, and renewed aspirations.
Both the Moon and Uranus are in turn ruled by dispositor Mercury, who travels the final degrees of Taurus conjoined the New Moon. Mercury and Venus are in mutual reception, thus the New Moon may signify endings and beginnings in your career and public actions, underpinned by the new desires and epiphanies of the eleventh house. And Mercury, recently merged with the Sun in Cazimi, is clarified and reset with the Sun’s divine principle, seeding these new intentions into the fertile body of the dark Moon.
Pluto stations retrograde on May 6, bringing a culmination, turning point, or reversal in intimate one-on-one relationships. Powerful, deep karmic energies, hidden patterns of control, and deep-seated fears now emerge for release and acknowledgement. With Pluto trine Uranus in your eleventh house, these powerful regenerative shifts will colour your eleventh-house affiliations and aspirations, and the closures and beginnings the New Moon portends.
Adding to the intensity is the fixed star Algol, conjunct the New Moon. Long-held injustices, hurts, and anger may present themselves for processing. This is a time to take ownership of any resentments or difficult emotions that have been turned inward or remained unexpressed. In doing so, this lunation offers you an opportunity to reset your public-facing self with greater authenticity and authority.
.
Virgo

The New Moon seeds in your ninth house in Taurus—the fixed, feminine earth temple of Venus. The Moon is exalted here, seeking to manifest stability and security through a grounded understanding of the world. It signifies endings and beginnings in matters of belief, cultural exploration, foreign travels, or higher education.
The ruler of this lunation, Venus, travels through your Gemini tenth house—the mutable, masculine air sign of Mercury. She is copresent with recently ingressed Uranus. Thus her expression is coloured by a desire for intellectual intercourse, unconventional ideas, and forward-thinking perspectives. With Uranus, the Great Awakener and Disruptor, present, expect epiphanies and surprising turns of events.
And Mercury, their dispositor, is conjunct the New Moon in Taurus, travelling through its final degrees. Mercury and Venus are in mutual reception, connecting your ninth and tenth houses in sympathy and support. Thus, Venus’s intellectual curiosity, her communicative nature, and her Uranian influence colour the New Moon’s manifestations, bringing a greater sense of exploration and daring to the usual stability-seeking qualities of Taurus.
Pluto stations retrograde on May 6 in your Aquarius sixth house, bringing sixth-house matters to a culmination, turning point, or reversal. Hidden health matters may arise, requiring a profound overhaul in your lifestyle and self-care. Any restrictive or unsustainable daily routines or workloads will need to be transformed. You may need to address internal patterns of control that limit or drain your vitality. With Pluto trining Uranus in your tenth house, productive shifts to your public self and professional sphere are supported—shifts that integrate what Pluto has unearthed in your sixth house.
Meanwhile, the fixed star Algol, conjunct this New Moon, adds another layer of depth. Dormant injustices and repressed aspects of your life’s direction or belief system may now arise with powerful emotion. With the Sun in its joy in the ninth house and the Moon exalted, this is a powerful time to acknowledge and express this intensity through righteous anger or assertion—an opportunity to reclaim your personal power, sovereignty, and authenticity.
.
Libra

The New Moon seeds in your eighth house in Taurus—the realm of intimacy, karmic entanglement, shared resources, death, and transformation. Here, the Moon is exalted, and she augurs endings and beginnings in matters of material stability, emotional security, and enduring intimacy.
Her ruler—and your ruler, Venus—travels through the final degrees of your Gemini ninth house, copresent with newly ingressed Uranus. In this placement, Venus craves intellectual exploration, philosophical discussion, foreign cultures, and travel. But with Uranus beside her, her tastes shift toward the free-spirited, the unconventional, and spiritual awakenings.
Venus and Uranus are ruled, in turn, by their dispositor Mercury, who travels the late degrees of Taurus conjoined the New Moon. Thus, Mercury and Venus enter mutual reception, weaving a bridge of understanding between your ninth and eighth houses. The significations of this lunation are therefore fused with Mercury’s non-conforming, intellectually restless nature—challenging Taurus’s fixedness, entertaining ideas beyond their practicality, and daring to question what endures.
Pluto stations retrograde on May 6 in your Aquarius fifth house, bringing culminations, turning points, or reversals in fifth-house matters: a deep revision of what brings you joy, an honest look at whether you approach creativity with openness or control, and possibly the unearthing of power dynamics within romantic partnership or with your children.
There is additional potency here. The New Moon meets the fixed star Algol, degree for degree. A past affront or long-buried injustice may surface as righteous anger. Or a visceral realisation may suddenly shatter a belief you have held for years. Algol is not gentle. Her primal force must be channelled with care or risk being destroyed by her ire. Yet those who work with this energy are rewarded with the reclamation of their personal power.
.
Scorpio

The New Moon seeds in your Taurus seventh house—the house of the “other,” of committed partnership, of one-to-one relating. Here the Moon is exalted, cradled in the fixed, feminine earth temple of Venus. She seeks sensual pleasure, material comfort, relational stability—and the kind of security that comes only from trust.
Venus, her ruler, travels through Gemini in your eighth house. She craves affection, intimate conversation, and intellectual sharing. But here, in the eighth, her curiosity deepens. She turns toward the darker, more hidden layers of reality: psychology, the occult, the taboo. With newly ingressed Uranus beside her, her expression quickens. Unconventional longings stir. Sudden breakthroughs arrive unbidden. Desire becomes unpredictable.
Venus and Uranus are ruled, in turn, by their dispositor Mercury, who travels the final degrees of Taurus conjoined this New Moon. So Mercury and Venus enter mutual reception—each in the other’s sign, weaving a living sympathy between your seventh and eighth houses. For your partnership, or for a particular partner, there may be an ending, a beginning, or a shift in how you meet the “other.” Whatever unfolds in your seventh house will be bound to your eighth: the place of death and transformation, of intimacy and shared resources, of karmic bonds that do not loosen easily.
Pluto stations retrograde on May 6 in your Aquarius fourth house—the realm of parents, home, family, and the foundations beneath your feet. This is a time of deep revisioning. Power dynamics in your most private space will rise, asking to be seen. Hidden ancestral patterns—old trauma coiled around control—may surface for release and healing. Issues of emotional security and intimacy will not stay buried. And unexpected developments in shared finances, debts, or inheritances may arrive without warning.
The New Moon also meets the fixed star Algol. Past pain, long-buried injustice, or a wound you thought you had outrun may seek release—or simply acknowledgement. You are not required to carry the guilt, shame, or anger that others have projected onto you. To refuse that weight is its own kind of power. That refusal brings self-empowerment. That refusal is the reclamation of your sovereignty.
This is a profoundly personal and relational lunation—rich with potential for significant emotional growth. And growth, for Scorpio, is never surface work. It goes all the way down to the depths of the human psyche.
.
Sagittarius

The New Moon seeds in the darkness of your sixth house. In Taurus, the Moon is exalted—she seeks stability, comfort, and the quiet nurturance of the body. This is a time of closure and new beginnings for the engine room of your life: the daily tasks that support your health, your obligations, your work and service. Taurus strives for a grounded, steady reliability—the kind that keeps life running smoothly, even when nothing else does.
But the ruler of your sixth house, Venus, travels through your seventh. Here, in the house of the “other,” her desires shift. She craves intellectual stimulation, mental nimbleness, a partnership that challenges rather than soothes. And she is copresent with newly ingressed Uranus, who brings unexpected developments and sudden breakthroughs. You may strike up a relationship with someone entirely unconventional—or bring an experimental newness to the partnership you already have.
The dispositor of Venus and Uranus is Mercury, who is conjoined this New Moon, moving through the final degrees of Taurus. He has just met the Sun in a Cazimi, where he was burned clean and reset by divine light. Now, with a new solar missive, and in mutual reception with Venus, Mercury acts as a bridge—between your daily responsibilities and your committed partnership. He brings fresh understanding to this new sixth-house chapter. Together with Venus, he weaves together the shift of body and mind, infusing both with greater flexibility and a new agenda.
Pluto stations retrograde on May 6 in your Aquarius third house. He is focused on a deep revision of your internal power dynamics—the patterns of your mind, the thoughts that have held you captive without your knowing. Controlling thoughts, long unchallenged, will rise to be acknowledged and processed. This may also speak to the balance of power within relationships to siblings, neighbours, or people in your local community: what you give, what you take, and where the scales have tipped without your consent. Pluto trines Uranus in your seventh house, supporting a positive restructuring of your relationships—surprising events, sudden downloads of insight, and deep transformational shifts arriving through partnership.
Meanwhile, further intensity is brought by the fixed star Algol, who conjoins this New Moon. Representing the fury of one unjustly held responsible for wrongs committed against her, Algol asks you to revise any deeply held anger that is not yours to carry. With both Pluto and Uranus lending their weight, this is a potent time for release and unburdening—and in doing so, for reclaiming your personal power and sovereignty.
.
Capricorn

The New Moon seeds in the darkness of Taurus, your fifth house. She offers fertile ground for new beginnings—and for needful endings, even if they are not yet welcome. In the sign of the Bull, she is exalted: seeking sensual pleasure, creative joy, and the kind of loving nurturance that reminds you that you are allowed to play.
This is the fixed, feminine earth sign of Venus, who travels the final degrees of your sixth house in Gemini. Here, Venus is coloured by a desire for intellectual curiosity, witty conversation, and novelty. With newly ingressed Uranus copresent, she seeks stimulation and divergence—the unexpected, the unconventional, the road less travelled.
In your fifth house, this manifests as breakthrough creative inspiration, an urge to take up a new pastime, or an unexpected romance with someone entirely unlike anyone you have known. In your sixth house, you may embark on an experimental health regime, or feel the sudden need to revolutionise your daily routine or work environment. Retrograde Pluto trines Uranus from your second house, further supporting a deep restructure of how you manage your resources, your work, and your health, day by day. Whatever shifts, it will be underpinned by a single desire: to bring greater creativity and joy to the routines that have become mundane and uninspiring.
Pluto stations retrograde on May 6 in your second house. A powerful internal revisioning is now underway—of your financial independence, your resources, and your livelihood. Pluto asks the deep questions. What issues do you hold in relation to money? Control, greed, or a fear of lack? Is your attachment to money limiting your freedom? And what hidden or limiting beliefs do you secretly hold about your worth in relation to wealth? These are not comfortable questions. But they are the ones that set you free.
Finally, the New Moon is conjoined the fixed star Algol. She asks what pain, shame, or anger you carry that was never yours to hold. This lunation is an opportune time to release and relinquish these deep, toxic energies—and in doing so, to free yourself from the burdens imposed by others. That release is not weakness. It is the recovery of your own power and sovereign ground.
.
Aquarius

The New Moon seeds in your fourth house in Taurus, where it manifests endings and new beginnings in the most private spaces of your life. Here, the Moon is exalted, seeking to manifest emotional security, physical comfort, and stability in the place of parents, home, and family—the roots beneath the soil of your visible life.
Taurus is the feminine fixed earth sign of Venus, who travels through the final degrees of Gemini with newly ingressed Uranus. In your fifth house, they bring a hunger for new stimulating ideas, sudden creative inspiration, and perhaps an unexpected romance.
Venus and Uranus are ruled by dispositor Mercury, and he in turn is ruled by Venus. Thus Venus and Mercury are in mutual reception—each in the other’s sign, weaving a living sympathy between your fourth and fifth houses. Mercury is conjoined this New Moon, colouring shifts to family and home with fresh perspectives and a new agenda.
Pluto stations retrograde on May 6 in your first house. This is part of a longer, twenty-year transit—one that brings death and regeneration to the very core of the self. This retrograde period is a time of deep revision. Hidden or suppressed energies may rise, seeking control or power. The work is not to fight them, but to acknowledge them—allowing for release, for processing, for the slow alchemy of transformation. In this way, they will not govern your actions from the shadows.
Finally, the New Moon is conjunct the fixed star Algol. Any emotional burdens from past injustices inflicted upon you may now come to light. In your fourth house, this may be tied to ancestral or family karma—wounds passed down through blood and silence. Though this may be a deeply visceral process, it is also an opportunity: for emotional liberation, for the reclamation of your personal power, and for the slow, sovereign work of becoming free.
.
Pisces

The New Moon seeds in your third house in Taurus, the sign of its exaltation and the place where it rejoices. Here, the Moon seeks emotional stability and comfort through intellect, communication, and daily interactions. The New Moon signifies new beginnings and often endings that clear space for its manifestations.
Taurus is the feminine, fixed, earth sign of Venus, who travels through the fourth house of parents, family, and home. In Gemini, she desires connection through interactions and the analytical, rational exchange of ideas. Her mind is curious and quick, and more so, for she is copresent with Uranus, the Great Awakener and Disruptor. His electric signature stimulates thought, creating innovation, breakthroughs, and the unexpected.
And they are, in turn, ruled in Gemini by Mercury, who travels in Venus’s sign of Taurus, conjoined the New Moon. Thus, there is a mutual reception between the third and fourth houses, with a natural sympathy connecting the two. It may signify epiphanies or realisations that reshape your way of thinking, or inspire new projects, short trips, or connections with siblings, neighbours, or community. And for your home and family there may be new ideas, discussion, or surprising turns of events, which influence or are involved with these new third-house initiations.
Pluto stations retrograde on May 6 in your Aquarius twelfth house. This period is part of his longer transformational and regenerative journey through your hidden unconscious realms. For the next twenty years, through death, rebirth, and regeneration, he will bring deep shifts to your psyche. He will unearth what lies buried in this liminal space—the threshold between reality and dreams, between the physical and spiritual planes. Pluto trines Uranus, bringing further gravitas to his significations—supporting deep psychological or spiritual awakenings which encompass your home and family, for processing and release.
Of note, the New Moon is conjunct the fixed star Algol—a star mythologically connected to powerful injustices and trespasses. Thus this is a potent opportunity to shed any karmic burdens you have been carrying that are not yours to bear. A time to communicate and express these emotions, perhaps anger, and to channel and release them through writing or media, unpicking them from your mind and psyche. A process that will lead to self-empowerment and a lighter sense of being.
